Dutchess County Man Nabbed With Semi-Automatic Ghost Gun, Police Say

A Hudson Valley man was nabbed with a loaded semi-automatic gun after police responded to a report of a dispute.

The incident took place in Dutchess County around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15 in the city of Poughkeepsie.

According to the Poughkeepsie Police, officers responded to the area of Main and Rose Streets to investigate the dispute.  

One of the people involved in the dispute was reported to have a handgun. A description of the man with the gun was broadcast to responding units and a person matching the description was located in the area of Garden Street, police said.

Police said the suspect, identified as Nygel Miller, age 22, of Poughkeepsie, was detained and found to be in possession of a loaded semi-automatic 9mm polymer “ghost gun” which was equipped with a laser attachment and a device that converted the handgun to be capable of fully automatic fire.

Miller was charged with the felony of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was booked and held for arraignment.
